Fraudsters claiming to be council workmen targeted two pensioners in Oxford.
An elderly man was approached in the street in Cutteslowe on Monday by a con man who demanded payment for work he carried out on the pensioner's home.
The con man claimed he was from the council but when the pensioner said he had no money the man fled.
The following day, a 92-year-old woman was approached in Blenheim Drive, Wolvercote, also by a man claiming he needed to be paid for work carried out on her home.
She refused to pay and he left.
