CRICKET: Carterton Community College and Chipping Norton School played out a thrilling tie in the Oxfordshire Under 14 League.
Matt Taylor scored 92 and Dan Knight 47 in an unbroken stand of 155 in their 20 overs for Chippy on their new astroturf strip.
But Carterton were undaunted in their response as Danny Ford (66) and Liam Day (56no) saw them to 155-1 to secure the tie.
Amazingly, this was Chippy's second tie in three group games this season, as they also finished level with Bartholomew School.
Bartholomew won the group with a seven-wicket win over Burford.
Liam Pettifer scored 36 not out as the Eynsham school chased down Burford's 111-7, winning on 116-3.
Bicester Community College, who only qualified as a best second placed team, got the Oxon Under 15 League play-offs started with a rousing win over Lord Williams, Thame.
Rees Green took 3-23 as Lord Bills were held to 102 for 8 in 20 overs.
Aaron Hatton set Bicester on their way with 33, but they lost wickets regularly and needed ten of the last over with one wicket left.
Four byes and a great six from number 11 Connor Wolstenholme saw Bicester in to the semi finals where they will face Oxford.
