CRICKET: St Birinus, Didcot, were celebrating after beating Henry Box, Witney, by 49 runs to win the Oxfordshire Schools Under 13 Cup.
After being put into bat in the final, St Birinus posted a daunting total of 132-2.
This was thanks to a brilliant innings of 60 not out by opener Sean Stewart, who shared an opening partnership of 84 with Joe Butcher (25) and was ably supported by captain Sam Couldrick (14no).
In reply, Henry Box were restricted to 83-6 thanks to some excellent bowling from Butcher (2-14), Alex Rodman (1-7), Sam Couldrick (1-12) and Connor Morrison (1-11).
Magdalen College School won the under 12 Bunbury Cup, beating Lord Williams (Thame) by nine wickets.
Bradley Rose scored 48 not out in Thame's 77-6, but Magdalen coasted home with Adam Tilson scoring 46 not out.
