A man has been arrested after a crash between two cars and a motorbike left the rider with a suspected broken jaw.

The crash happened between a motorcycle, a Citroen van and a Jaguar E-pace on the A420 Fernham Road, Faringdon at around 7.35am today, Tuesday, September 12.

The rider of the motorcycle, a man in his 20s from Oxfordshire, suffered a suspected broken jaw. He remains in hospital at this time in a stable condition. No one else was injured.

The driver of the Citroen, a 25-year-old man from Swindon, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and driving whilst over the specified drug limit.

He remains in police custody at this time.

The road was closed for recovery and investigation several hours this morning (Tuesday, September 12), but has since been re-opened.

Thames Valley Police has launched an appeal for witnesses and dash-cam footage following the serious injury crash on the A420.

Investigating officer PC David Burleigh, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, said: “We are appealing for anyone who witnessed this collision or anyone who has dash-cam of the incident to please come forward.

“If you have information please provide it through our online site, or by calling 101, quoting reference 43230408511.”

Police guidance for those involved in a crash is to stop at the scene, switch off your engine and switch on your hazard lights.
