A café has closed down after there were “unsatisfactory findings” on a recent visit by the Environmental Health Officer (EHO).
The owners of the Buzz Café on Mill Street in Wantage decided to close the store voluntarily after losing their five-star rating from the EHO.
In a public post, the café owner Karen, admitted she was “totally and utterly ashamed” following the inspection.

After the inspection, she admitted there was a lapse in paperwork and “many problems” that she was unaware of.
The post said: “I feel it is only right that I set the record straight the Buzz Café. Yes, we closed voluntarily due to the unsatisfactory findings on a recent visit by the EHO.
“The decision was totally mine, not theirs. I hold my hands up to being responsible for the lapse in paperwork and other things found.
“I have over the last years always kept the café to a five-star standard that should have been maintained.
“This is sadly not reflected in this visit. Something I am totally and utterly ashamed about.
“Safety of my staff and customers has always been my main priority. Sadly I let everyone down.
“Working with the help of the EHO, we have been able to go through the building and have thoroughly rectified the many problems we were unaware of behind the shelving and equipment.
“All possible areas have been rectified and dealt with accordingly.”
