WILLIAM JACOBSEN, 33, of Barnes Road, Didcot, admitted assaulting a woman by beating her in Liverpool, sending a ‘grossly offensive’ communication via a public network and using disorderly behaviour at Wirral custody suite in Birkenhead on May 9. He was jailed for 26 weeks, the equivalent of six months, must pay £50 in compensation and was slapped with a restraining order limiting his contact with the victim of the assaults until August 2028.
NATHAN SMITH, 52, of Saywell Crescent, Eynsham, was found guilty of assaulting a woman in Eynsham on May 12 last year. The district judge imposed a community order with up to 30 rehabilitation activity requirement days, £150 in compensation and a restraining order banning him from contacting the victim directly or indirectly. He was ordered to pay £200 in prosecution costs.

DAVID SIMMONDS, 64, of Henley Road, Sandford on Thames, pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a woman by touching her when the touching was sexual and she did not consent. The offence was committed in Oxford on January 20. Simmonds received 18 weeks’ imprisonment suspended for two years. As part of the court order, he must complete a six month mental health rehabilitation requirement, attend up to 35 rehabilitation activity requirement days at the direction of the probation service and pay £350 in compensation to his victim. A restraining order bans him from contacting the woman indefinitely. He must pay a £154 victim surcharge and £85 in prosecution costs.
ORREAN JACOB, 40, of Centaury Place, Oxford, accepted a charge of handling stolen goods. He admitted handling stolen tools worth £725 in Oxford in April last year. He was fined £80 and must pay £119 in costs and surcharge.

SIMON ABSOLOM, 27, of Lodden Avenue, Berinsfield, pleaded guilty to drink driving and resisting a police officer. He was behind the wheel of a black MG on Oxpens Road, Oxford, on August 12 when he was stopped, breathalysed and found to have 51mcgs of alcohol in his breath. The legal limit is 35. He then ‘resisted’ the police constable trying to detain him, with an earlier allegation of escape from lawful custody withdrawn by the prosecutor. He was fined £300, banned from driving for 14 months and must pay £205 in costs and surcharge.
WALTER KEPKE, 36, of Songthrush Road, Bodicote, accepted failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis at Banbury police station in April. He was fined £120, banned from driving for three years and was ordered to pay £133 in costs and surcharge.

RICHARD HAMILTON, 37, of Luther Street, Oxford, admitted attempting to steal alcohol from a Tesco in Oxford on June 26 and damaging a police van in Aylesbury in May. He received a community order banning him from Tesco on Cowley Road for six months and was ordered to pay £50 in compensation to Thames Valley Police.
BRETT NEWMAN, 52, of no fixed address, admitted drug driving a Ford Mondeo in Beaumont Street, Oxford, on March 11. Blood tests showed he was over the limit for benzoylecgonine. He was fined £161, banned from driving for 14 months and ordered to pay £85 in prosecution costs.
