A 19-year-old killed by a falling tree in Oxford died due to a traumatic head injury.
Alexander Kippax of Heatley Way in North Hinksey was struck by the tree while out walking in King George Playing Fields off Botley Road on August 18.
An inquest into his death was opened today at Oxford Coroner’s Court.

Paramedics and an air ambulance were called to the park at around 5.45pm but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was identified by officers using photographic ID.
The area in the park was taped off and flowers were seen left at the scene with a tribute from his mum saying he was “taken away from us too soon”.
It read: “We love you Alex. You are a true beautiful soul that helped anyone and everyone. I’ve always been proud of you Alex.
“We will greatly miss your beautiful smile, you’re loving nature and bubbly ways. We will always be thinking of you. You are forever in our hearts and minds. RIP my beautiful boy.”
The purpose of an inquest is to determine the circumstances of an unnatural death.
The date of the conclusion of the inquest has been set for Wednesday, February 28 which is scheduled for 10am.
The inquest will be held at Oxford Coroner's Court.
