A man was found dead in Grove yesterday (Tuesday, September 5) after police officers responded to a report of a missing person.

The death of the 51-year-old, whose body was discovered at an address in Kennet Close, is being investigated as unexplained but non-suspicious by Thames Valley Police.

A spokesman said the man’s next of kin are aware and are being supported by officers.

The force received the missing person report at around 6.20pm on Monday and located the man’s body the next day following an investigation.

A witness told the Oxford Mail that several police vehicles and a fire engine were in Kennet Close “all day” on Tuesday with the street "cordoned off" and "residents told to remain in their homes".

They added that residents returning home from work were "ID'd at the edge of the cordon" before they could return to their houses.
