A newsagent in the Oxford area is looking to expand its store by knocking into the next unit at a parade of shops.
The owners of Acorn News on St Nicholas Road in Littlemore have applied to expand their shop premises into the vacant unit next door by removing part of the wall that separated them.
The unit was previously occupied by an electrical shop but it permanently closed down in 2021.

The current owner of the newsagents holds the lease to both properties.
A planning application lodged states the divider wall will be re-erected if the new leaseholder does not want to keep the shops.
A planning statement by the applicant reads: “We believe our proposal fully conforms to the Oxford City Council local plan and national government policy guidance.
“The proposal represents a sensible, well-balanced use of the shop which positively responds to the context.”
The application adds that the new shop front will match the existing shop fronts along the parade.
Acord News is open from Monday to Sunday, 6am until 9pm every day.
