A singing group in South Oxfordshire has taken on a new director who graduated from Oxford University.

She is the founder of the Antiphon Chamber Choir, is Organist for the Laurelin Voices, Guest Conductor for six other choral societies and very recently has been appointed Director of Music for Hertford College. And she is only 25.
“We had some very strong contenders for the post,” said Robin Dunford, Chairman of the society, “but Hannah really stood out.
“Her vision for the Society, coupled with considerable choral experience and approach for programming future concerts made her the outstanding choice.”
Ms Towndrow said: “I am delighted to have been appointed as the new music director of Wantage Choral Society.”
“Knowing the ambitious and welcoming nature of the group, I am hugely looking forward to nurturing the development of the choir, cultivating exciting and varied programmes, and growing the Society’s membership to share the joy of choral music even more widely”.
Wantage Choral Society is a non-audition choir with around 50 members. Term starts on Tuesday, September 5, with rehearsals (7.30-9.30pm) at Wantage Church of England Primary School, Newbury Street, Wantage.
