SHANE VERNON, 22, of Dalton Barracks, Abingdon, pleaded guilty to threatening unlawful violence in Abingdon on January 7. He admitted a charge under section four of the Public Order Act. He received a community order with a 14 day curfew tag and a four month ban from any pub in Abingdon. Vernon must also pay a £114 victim surcharge.

LEWIS MCCAFFREY, 24, of Kirkliston, Edinburgh, also accepted threatening unlawful violence on the same date as Shane Vernon, January 7. Like his co-defendant he was given a community order, but must complete 100 hours of unpaid work as the condition of the court order. He was also ordered to pay £199 in costs and surcharge.

DYLAN BOSWELL, 22, of Kynaston Road, Didcot, pleaded guilty to being drunk in charge of a VW Polo in a layby next to Borough Avenue, Wallingford, on New Year’s Day. Tests showed he had 221mgs of alcohol in his urine, more than twice the legal limit. He was fined £350, given 10 points on his licence and must pay £225 in costs and surcharge.

ETHAN TOWNSEND, 22, of Nightingale Way, Didcot, admitted drug driving a Vauxhall Corsa on Newman Road, Oxford, while under the influence of ketamine. He was caught on January 27, with blood tests later showing he had the drug in his system. Townsend was handed a community order with 75 hours of unpaid work, a two year roads ban and a requirement he pays £199 in costs and surcharge.

ROSS MCGINLEY, 32, of Anemone Place, Oxford, pleaded guilty to a raft of shoplifting offences at the Tesco on Cowley Road, as well as a burglary of an Oxford Kebab Kid takeaway in May. He received a community order with an alcohol treatment requirement and must pay more than £400 in compensation.

LUKE TRAN, 32, of HMP Coldingley, pleaded guilty to drug driving a white Iveco lorry in Baynards Green, Bicester, on March 7 while over the drug-drive limit for cannabis. He was fined £80, disqualified from driving for a year and was ordered to pay £117 in costs and surcharge.

NICHOLAS HORTON, 57, of St Mary’s, Wantage, admitted breaching a restraining order imposed by Reading Magistrates’ Court last October by sending text and WhatsApp messages to a woman in June and July of this year. The magistrates jailed him for 16 weeks, citing the fact it was a ‘persistent and deliberate breach’ of the restraining order.

CHERRY-ANN JENNINGS, 39, of Blue Mountains, Wallingford, pleaded guilty to three counts of assaulting police officers in Abingdon on July 8. She was ordered to pay a total sum in compensation of £300. She must also pay £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.

DANIEL MOREIRA, 37, of Milton Road, Sutton Courtenay, pleaded guilty to drink-driving a Skoda Octavia on Port Way, Wallingford, on December 1 last year. Tests showed he had 95mlgs of alcohol in his blood stream. The legal limit is 80. He was fined £600, banned from driving for 16 months and must pay £340 in costs and surcharge.
