An alleged murderer has appeared in front of a crown court judge.
Scarlet Blake, 25, is accused of the murder of Jorge Carreno in July 2021.
The 30-year-old’s body was found in the River Cherwell, near Parson’s Pleasure, by dog walkers.
She also faces separate allegations of theft of a cat, ‘damaging’ it and causing unnecessary suffering to the animal by decapitating and dissecting it.

Appearing before Judge Ian Pringle KC at Oxford Crown Court this morning (August 16), Blake, of Crotch Crescent, Marston, spoke only to confirm her name.
Flanked in the dock by four custody officers, she wore a grey tracksuit and her elbow-length dark hair over her left shoulder.
No bail application was made by her barrister, Eiran Reilly, and she was remanded in custody.
Blake will return to court on September 11 for a plea and trial preparation hearing, when it is expected she will enter her plea to the murder charge.
Judge Pringle said: “I’m not going to even pencil in a trial date. It’s too early for that to be done.”
Cathy Olliver appeared for the Crown Prosecution Service.
