Estelle Manor named Cotswolds 'hippest new hangout'

Eynsham Hall Hotel near Witney has been transformed into Estelle Manor, dubbed "the Cotswold's hippest new hangout" by The Sunday Times.

The hotel was bought in 2018 by Sharan Pasricha, 43, founder of Ennismore, a global hospitality developer, which is behind The Hoxton in London's Shoreditch and the Gleneagles in Scotland.

Estelle Manor is the country outpost of Mayfair private members’ club Maison Estelle which he founded in 2021 and is a favourite of celebrities including Angelina Jolie.

Mr Pasricha told the Evening Standard: “There’s now a lot going on in Oxfordshire and we’re happy to be here — there is ample room for everyone. A rising tide lifts all boats."

Eynsham Hall was built in 1904-8 by Sir Ernest George for the Mason family, who made their fortunes in Portuguese and Spanish Copper mines.

It became a maternity hospital rest and relaxation centre in the Second World War and then a police training centre.

It was most recently used as a hotel and conference centre while North Leigh Football Club play in the grounds of the hall.

Those lucky few who have been inside the exclusive venue say the transformation is "staggering".

The hotel and members' club has 108 rooms and suites across the house and the new Stables and Walled Garden buildings, with 34 in the manor house.

Some Scandinavian-styled woodland cottages and three larger homes are planned. 

Restaurants include the all-day The Brasserie, Chinese restaurant The Billiards Room, a kids’ club, The Clubhouse with gym, yoga and Pilates studio, working space, boutique and, soon to come, a George Northwood salon, hair stylist to the Princess of Wales.

Padel courts and family restaurant The Glasshouse are planned as well as the Eynsham Baths — a Roman-inspired 3,000 sq m spa complete with marble colonnades, tepidarium and hammam.

For members only (membership is £3,600 a year) and behind a curtain off the entrance hall, there is a library, cafe, late-night drinking den and soon-to-open Japanese restaurant.

The decor includes handpainted wallpaper, pink marble, silk upholstery, antiques sourced from Italy, France, Morocco and India and bespoke chandeliers.

Artworks include sculptures by Eric Baudart, installations by Marinella Senatore and paintings by Billy Childish.

Mr Pasricha’s wife Eiesha Pasricha is artistic director of the hotel brand and curates what is sold in the shops at Estelle Manor and Gleneagles.

Meanwhile the south terrace has a 25m swimming pool, sun loungers and bar.
