A man who denies raping a 15-year-old girl had sex with her mother hours before the alleged attack, a court heard today.

Jamie Hall told police he believed his accuser was angry with him for having sex with her mother or because he stopped having sex with her, Peter Coombe, prosecuting, told Oxford Crown Court today.

Mr Coombe said Hall, 25, of Fettiplace Road, Barton, had been drinking at his alleged victim's home on the night of August 10 last year. He said the girl had gone to sleep in her mother's bedroom, while her younger brother slept at the side of the bed.

Hall then left the house, but returned and told the mother he had been locked out, before going upstairs and raping the girl, Mr Coombe said.

He added that after Hall was arrested, he claimed he had had sex with the girl's mother hours before the alleged attack.

He said Hall did not deny having sex with the girl later, but said it was consensual and he had stopped, because he started thinking of his child.

In a videotaped interview shown to the court, the girl said she had told Hall to stop once or twice during the attack and added she felt "horrible" afterwards.

She said: "I was going to run a bath, because I just felt dirty and I really wanted to wash."

Sumita Mahtab, defending, asked the girl on a videolink: "Are you upset and angry with Jamie, because he slept with your mum and then you?"

She replied: "No. I don't know if he did sleep with my mum or not."

Hall denies one charge of rape, one of sexual assault and two of sexual activity with a child.

The case continues.
