But don't start celebrating yet. Despite ministers' wise words, there is still one hurdle - money.
Not much can be achieved without it - and it may be many years before we see patients in all parts of the country receiving these much-needed drugs.
Our advice to the campaigners is to keep fighting - the battle is far from over.
