Oxfordshire's newest major music festival, Wakestock, is set to return for a second year at Blenheim Palace.
An average of 8,000 people attended each of the three days of music and boarding. The line-up included internationally-acclaimed artists such as Mark Ronson, Groove Armada, Supergrass and The Streets. Last year, Wakestock sold out its allocation of 25,000 tickets for its July weekend in North Wales. Spokesman Alan Day told the Oxford Mail: "We're really pleased. Being on the same weekend as Glastonbury wasn't ideal, but it was the only weekend we could get the lake."
Happy Mondays frontman Shaun Ryder lit up on stage on Saturday night, in defiance of the smoking ban.
West Oxfordshire District Council said it was investigating.
