A primary school that has served its community for 150 years was joined by the Bishop of Oxford to mark the milestone.
Horspath Primary School staff and pupils, past and present, parents and members of the local community came together to celebrate with the Rt Rev John Pritchard.
Headteacher Jenny Knight said: "Our hall was full to bursting with all the children, former pupils, old teachers and members of the community that came out on the day to help us celebrate.
"I think the school is at the heart of this village. We have got families whose parents and grandparents have attended - I've even got one member of staff that came here.
"It's a very popular village school, which has grown from strength to strength and in recent years we have had some great academic results."
The anniversary celebrations on Wednesday saw a special service being held at St Giles' Church, in Church Road, Horspath, where the bishop gave a sermon.
Ms Knight said: "It was really nice and the children also got involved and spoke.
"The bishop also presented all the children that are leaving the school this summer with a Bible and wrote a message in each one.
"We were very grateful for him to give his time to come and celebrate with us and he was really fantastic with the children.
"Later in the day we held a tea party in the school hall, which we opened up to the whole community to come."
Chairman of governors Debbie Montgomerycorr, whose 11-year-old daughter Victoria goes to the school, said the anniversary was a fantastic achievement.
Mrs Mongomery said: "The school has played a big part in this community and it continues to do so.
"The nice thing about the school is that its catchment area includes place like Headington, Cowley and Garsington, but we still have this great community feel.
"We had more than 300 people here on the day to celebrate the anniversary and that just shows the strength of feeling for the school."
Ms Knight said that in its last Ofsted inspection, the school received good results in all areas and was outstanding in the care and guidance given to pupils.
She added: "It is something that the school and the village is very proud of."
