LEWIS THOMPSON, 35, of Luther Street, Oxford, pleaded guilty to stealing a bike on May 31. He received 22 weeks’ imprisonment suspended for a year and a half, with a rehabilitation programme attached to the order. He must pay £150 in compensation.
DANIEL WALSH, 32, of Little Bury, Oxford, admitted assaulting a police officer by beating him in Oxford on July 23. The magistrates imposed a 12 week prison sentence suspended for a year. The reason for suspending the jail time rather than Walsh being sent to prison immediately was given in court papers as the fact that ‘lots of work is already being carried out and [the defendant] has been engaging’. Walsh must pay £100 in compensation to the officer he assaulted.

TONY SOFRONIOU, 58, of Bernwood Road, Bicester, was found guilty of harassing a woman by attending her home multiple times and sought to contact her via another. The offending took place between October 14 and November 15 last year in Bicester. He was given a community order for 12 months and must complete 80 hours of unpaid work and up to 27 rehabilitation activity requirement days. A restraining order prevents him from contacting his victim or going to a street in Bicester for two years. He was ordered to pay £775 in prosecution costs and a £114 victim surcharge.
ALEX BARRAN, 36, of Hundred Acres Close, Oxford, pleaded guilty to driving an Audi A6 while under the influence of cannabis. Blood tests taken after he was stopped on Green Road, Kidlington, in February, showed he was twice the legal limit for the active ingredient in the class B drug. He was fined £422, banned from driving for a year and was ordered to pay a £169 victim surcharge and £85 in costs.

STEFFON WOOD, 35, of Alice Smith Square, Littlemore, admitted drunk and disorderly behaviour in Horspath Road, racially aggravated disorderly behaviour and assault of police constables. The offences were committed on July 1. He received a community order with a 112 day alcohol abstinence monitoring tag. He must pay £250 in compensation to the officers and was fined £120.
CAROLINE WALLS, 47, of Linnet Close, Oxford, admitted stealing alcohol, air fresheners and ‘other household items’ from Waitrose in Headington on June 25. She must pay £400 in compensation to the store.

SIMON WHITE, 44, of James Street, Oxford, pleaded guilty to theft of an icemaker from Aldi in Oxford on June 6. He was ordered to pay £90 in compensation. The court record noted that the offence was committed while White was subject to a conditional discharge imposed by the crown court.
CATHERINE MULLINS, 65, of South Molton, Devon, admitted two counts of causing serious injury by driving a Mercedes carelessly on December 18 last year. She ploughed into another vehicle on the B4020 Shilton Road, causing serious injuries to two women. She was given a community order with 150 hours of unpaid work and a 12 month driving ban. Mullins must pay £199 in costs and surcharge.
