LEWIS THOMPSON, 44, of Luther Street, Oxford, admitted assault by beating, attempted theft of Yankee candles worth £110 from Asda and failing to surrender to bail. The district judge imposed a 22 week prison sentence suspended for 18 months. As part of the court order he must wear a curfew tag for four months and complete a rehabilitation programme with addiction charity Turning Point. The victim of the assault was awarded £50 compensation.
JAMIE CROOK, 36, of Thornley Close, Abingdon, admitted drug driving a Vauxhall Astra on Drayton Road, Abingdon, on January 17. Blood tests showed he had ketamine in his system. The magistrates fined him £250, banned him from driving for a year and ordered he pay £185 in costs and surcharge.

SAMUEL BECKETT, 20, of Springfield Close, Watlington, admitted damaging a fence and possession of an axe in Springfield Close on May 27. He received a community order with a drug rehabilitation requirement and up to 25 rehabilitation activity requirement days. He must pay £175 in compensation for the damaged fence and was given a restraining order banning him from contacting the fence’s owner until July 2025. Beckett was ordered to pay £199 in costs and surcharge.
KHALED GHANOUM, 22, of Florence Park Road, Oxford, admitted drug driving a BMW 118 on Crowell Road and Bullingdon Road, Oxford, in separate incidents in February. Blood tests showed he had cannabis in his system on both occasions when he was stopped by the police. The magistrates disqualified him from driving for 14 months and fined him £230.

ADAM DEVLIN, 34, of Newtown Road, Bedworth, pleaded guilty to drug driving a BMW 3 series on the A34 northbound near Weston on the Green. Blood tests showed he was over the limit for cannabis when he was stopped on February 15. He was fined £120, banned from driving for a year and ordered to pay £133 in costs and surcharge.
EDMOND SHULI, 27, of Foresters Tower, Oxford, admitted driving on the Eastern Bypass last October while uninsured. He was fined £72 and banned from holding a licence for seven days. He must pay a £28 victim surcharge.

STEVEN ALEXANDER, 28, of Wear Road, Bicester, pleaded guilty to drink driving a silver Audi A3 on Woodperry Hill, Stanton St John, on July 2. He had 55mcgs of alcohol in 100ml of breath, around one-and-a-half times the legal limit of 35. He was fined £507, banned from driving for 14 months and was ordered to pay £288 in costs and surcharge.
EGIDIJUS PRANCKEVICIUS, 23, of Sheldon Way, Oxford, pleaded guilty to drink driving a silver Peugeot on Addison Drive, Oxford, on July 5. Tests showed he was a little less than twice the legal limit, blowing 63mcgs of alcohol in 100ml of breath. He was fined £646, banned from driving for 17 months and must pay £85 in prosecution costs and a £258 victim surcharge.
SHAHEED SYED, 45, of Hurst Street, Oxford, pleaded guilty to possession of a wrap of cocaine on July 5. He was fined £150 and must pay £145 in costs and surcharge. The drugs were forfeit to the police.
