The owner of the takeaway, Sakar Mohammed Ali, insisted that changes had already been made in response to the low rating and he said a new inspection would take place within a month.

He said: “It is under new management now.

“If we don’t get given a five-score rating next time then it will definitely be a four.”

On Trip Advisor, the restaurant has only had three reviews, with one of these being ‘excellent’ and the other two ‘poor’ and ‘terrible’.

TripAdvisor user Vesnac2014 who visited in March last year said the pizza was “amazing”.

The reviewer said: “Not sure why there are so many bad reviews for Eagle Pizza!

“We usually get pizza from here once a fortnight and I can’t fault it.

It’s delicious!!! So much cheaper than Dominoes and tasty toppings too.”

The food hygiene inspector also visited The Fox and Hounds in Faringdon on June 22 and it was given a four out of five rating.
