A new train station, primary school, and potentially hundreds of homes could be built in Grove under speculative new plans.
Developers Richborough have circulated a 'draft masterplan' for a major development called ‘Grove Gateway’ in the village near Wantage.
The plans are at an early stage and have not yet been submitted to the planning authority, which would be Vale of White Horse District Council.

But the proposals would represent a significant development in the area.
The masterplan would see a nearly 70 hectare site to the north of Grove developed.
While the company does not specify the total number of houses attached to the development, it said there would be approximately 230 affordable homes.
The brochure also sets out plans for Grove Railway Station, which the company described as “a long standing ambition for this part of Oxfordshire.”
While a Wantage and Grove station was opened by Great Western Railway in 1846, it has seen no trains since 1964, and the lack of a railway station in the area has long been a concern.

Richborough said it aimed to deliver “a multi modal public transport hub to ensure there is a real choice in sustainable travel options and connectivity to Wantage, Grove, and wider destinations.”
A new train station would be “at the heart of this”, it added.
The brochure also set out plans for a new primary school with a playing field and football pitches.
While the plans are still at an early stage, the company said it wanted to engage with the community.
