A motorist was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of cocaine in a village near Witney.
The arrest happened after the occupants of the vehicle were stop-searched in Shipton-under-Wychwood by PC Shayler from Thames Valley Police’s rural crime taskforce.
Officers from the Joint Operations Unit Roads Policing department also attended and conducted a drugs wipe procedure on the driver, who was subsequently arrested.
A spokesperson for the force said: “We are making use of technology and information from across our rural communities to help make the roads safer.
“If you know of someone that drives under the influence you can phone 999 if there is a crime in progress, 101 to provide information, report online or speak to crime stoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
