A mother-of-two was found dead at her home address by her son, an inquest heard today (July 25).

Stephanie Dix aged 52 of Champion Way in Littlemore died on or around May 6 last year.

Her cause of death following a post-mortem was given as acute fatty liver due to alcohol use.

The inquest heard that Ms Dix had a history of alcohol dependency and that there was no evidence that the death was a suicide.

She was found by her son Archie, on the afternoon of May 7, who then alerted the emergency services.

Paramedics who attended Champion Way pronounced the 52-year-old dead at the scene.

Ms Dix last made contact with Archie on May 3 and she did not reply to a message he sent to her on May 6.

But a neighbour is believed to have heard Ms Dix moving around in her property on May 5.

Oxfordshire’s head coroner, Darren Salter ruled that the mother-of-two’s death was an alcohol related death.

He told Oxford Coroner’s court: “She had a history of alcohol abuse.

“She was last heard from on the evening of May 3 when she sent a message to her son.

“She was subsequently discovered deceased by her son at her home address on the afternoon of May 7.”

Mr Salter offered his condolences to the Dix family at the inquest.
