SPENCER CRON, 20, of RAF Croughton, admitted drink driving. He was stopped behind the wheel of a blue Renault Megane on the Aynho Road, Adderbury, on May 13. A breath test showed he was more than three times the legal limit, blowing 124mgs. The legal limit is 35mcgs of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The justices gave him 12 weeks’ imprisonment suspended for a year, banned him from the roads for 32 months and ordered he pay £239 in costs and surcharge.

THOMAS FINDLAY, 36, of Holloway Road, Witney, admitted driving a Mercedes C220 on Main Road, Long Hanborough, last December without a valid licence or insurance. He was fined £120, given six penalty points on his licence and must pay £93 in costs and surcharge.

FIONA WAGSTAFF, 51, of Longleat Close, Banbury, pleaded guilty to driving a white Hyundai on Chatsworth Drive, Banbury, while over the drink drive limit. A breathalyser test conducted after she was stopped on June 10 showed she was almost exactly twice the legal limit, blowing 73mcgs of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The limit is 35. Wagstaff was fined £426, banned from driving for 20 months and ordered to pay £255 in costs and surcharge.

DARREN SMALL, 35, of Cozens Grove, Shrivenham, pleaded guilty to possession of a knife, cocaine and driving a Nissan Micra carelessly on Larkhill Road and Longmead, Abingdon, last June. He maintained his not guilty plea to an alternative charge that he had driven the Micra dangerously, with the prosecution offering no evidence following his plea to careless driving. He was ordered to do 120 hours of unpaid work for the knife offence, fined £120 and given nine penalty licence points for the careless driving and was also ordered to pay £364 in costs and surcharge.

MATTHEW ENGLAND, 28, of Hoyle Close, Witney, admitted driving a silver Renault Clio on the A44 Oxford Road, Woodstock, on January 28 while over the drug driving limit for cocaine and benzoylecgonine. He was fined £300, banned from the roads for a year and ordered to pay £205 in costs and surcharge.

MICHAEL CAUNTER, 57, of Jordan Hill, Oxford, pleaded guilty to possession without reasonable excuse of an offensive weapon, a baseball bat, in public in Jordan Hill on May 11 and assault on a man on the same date. He was ordered to pay £114 in compensation to the victim of the assault and was sentenced to a community order with a six month mental health treatment requirement. The magistrates also ordered the defendant pay £85 in costs to the prosecution.

SAMANTHA PRIOR, 46, of Botley Road, Oxford, pleaded guilty to stealing a suitcase worth £200 from John Lewis last December. The district judge imposed 16 weeks’ imprisonment suspended for a year and a half, citing the defendant’s ‘wilful and persistent failure’ to comply with an existing community order. As part of the order, she was given a three month curfew and ordered to comply with a drug rehabilitation requirement. She must pay £50 in compensation to retail giant John Lewis.

MARK WALTON, 25, of Springfield Drive, Abingdon, admitted breaching his sexual harm prevention order by accessing the internet using a device that did not have police risk management software installed on it. The offence was committed in April last year in breach of the sexual harm prevention order made at Oxford Crown Court in 2017. He was fined £700 and ordered to pay £155 in costs and surcharge.
