A 'rapidly spreading' crop fire broke out in a field in Oxfordshire yesterday afternoon (July 19).
Fire crews were called to the incident near South Stoke (Goring) just after 4pm.
A spokesman for Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue said: "The first crew on scene from Goring Fire Station were faced with a significant fire spreading quickly across the field which fortunately supported by further crews they were able to tackle, along with the support of farmers who quickly ploughed a firebreak in alongside the firefighting."

In total, five fire crews from South Oxfordshire and Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service attended the incident.
The spokesman for Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue continued: "Although significantly below the temperatures of a year ago, this time of year is still a peak time just before harvest for crop fires and the smallest fire can quickly develop.
"Please take care in the countryside, and if you see a fire immediately call 999."
