A man has been disqualified from driving for a year after he was caught drink driving at speed on the A40.

Svyatoslav Kruchock, 43, from Hobbs Hill Road in Hertfordshire, was sentenced for drink driving in Oxford Magistrates’ Court last Thursday (July 13).

Kruchock pleaded guilty to one count of driving a motor vehicle while over the prescribed limit of alcohol.

He was fined £785.

On June 27, Kruchock was driving along the A40 at speed near Eynsham when he passed an unmarked traffic car patrolling the area.

The police pulled him over due to the speed he was travelling at and he was subsequently found to be over the drink drive limit.

Investigating officer Sergeant James Mathews, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, said: “The Joint Operation Roads Policing Unit use unmarked as well as marked vehicles to patrol the road network and catch those putting lives at risk.

“I am appalled at the standard of driving and the risk Kruchock put the public and himself in.

"I am pleased he has been swiftly convicted of this offence.”
