A bridge was blocked to traffic after a large tree fell and obstructed the road.
Pictures from the scene show a tree blocking the whole of Clifton Hampden bridge near Abingdon at around 5pm today (July 15).
It comes on a day when Oxfordshire has experienced strong winds, with a yellow weather warning in place from the MET Office.
Michele Preece Neé Sandell, who took a photo at the scene, said: “There's a large tree down on the Clifton Hampden bridge so no access to Long Wittenham and Didcot in that direction. Hopefully it saves someone a wasted journey.”
Shortly after, Jess Fairhurst said a ‘tree surgeon is there now chopping it down and cars are being allowed through again.’
