A lorry driver who was spotted using their phone on the M40 has been arrested.
Thames Valley Police’s Roads Policing unit stopped the lorry, which was transporting three cars, on the motorway near Denham in Buckinghamshire.
Officers noticed the driver on their mobile phone while operating the heavy goods vehicle.

Once stopped, they found the driver had no insurance to drive the lorry and had not passed their HGV test. Officers also discovered the motorist was disqualified from driving.
The driver was arrested and has been charged to court.
It is illegal to use a handheld mobile phone while driving a motor vehicle on the roads in the UK. The police have the right to stop driver if they think they are distracted and not in control of their vehicle.
