A coffee shop in Oxfordshire has closed down after a landlord terminated its lease.
Gloria Jean’s coffee shop in the Castle Quay Shopping Centre in Banbury has shut after its being served a notice of forfeiture.
It first opened over a year in May, 2022 becoming the chain's first branch in Oxfordshire before a second branch opened at 11 High Street in the town.

Forfeiture is when a landlord exercises a right to end the lease and take back possession of the property because the tenant has breached the terms of that lease.
The notice said: “We hereby give notice the underlease of the premises 28A Castle Centre, Banbury OX16 5UH dated November 2, 2021, made between ZHCORP Limited and Aikq Global Services Limited has now been fortified from July 6, 2023.”
Gloria Jean's is an American-Australian retail coffeehouse brand headquartered in Castle Hill, Sydney.
The chain is owned by the Retail Food Group and has more than 599 stores in 40 countries, including over 140 in Australia.
The Oxford Mail has contacted Gloria Jean’s for a comment on the closure.
