While most people are thinking of hot sun and sandy beaches, Blenheim Palace is now selling tickets for its Christmas experience this year.
The Woodstock palace will open outdoor trails with glowing tunnels, heart-shaped arches and an eight-metre sphere filled with more than 20,000 moving LED lights from November 17 to January 1.
Visitors will also see the return of ‘ever-popular dancing reflections’ along the lakeside walk in the grounds.

In the East Courtyard, visitors will be able to sample and buy festive food from a selection of ‘hand-picked street vendors’ and can walk the grounds with hot chocolate or a ‘spiced winter warmer’.
Inside the palace, the rooms have been ‘transformed’ into a retelling of the fairytale ‘Sleeping Beauty’.
Visitors will experience the story as they travel through the building, which will be filled with fairies and creeping vines.
The Great Court will host the artisan Christmas Market, offering a selection of arts, crafts, homewares and festive treats.
Dominic Hare, Blenheim Palace chief executive, said staff are looking forward to “presenting the beauty of the palace both inside and out at a time so precious to families and loved ones”.
The palace is urging people to book as early as possible to secure their place in this seasonal event and ‘discover a world like no other’, with tickets on sale now on the Blenheim Palace website.
