The following day (July 8), a 35-year-old man from Oxford was arrested on suspicion of attempted rape.

A video sent to the Oxford Mail shows the armed squad stood outside the entrance to the cemetery, seemingly in conversation.

An eyewitness told the Oxford Mail: “I was just walking by and they were patrolling the cemetery with guns strapped to them.

“Then the police helicopter was above and circling Cowley Road.”
