The ticket office at Bicester North Station is at risk of closing under plans which will be put to public and employee consultations.
Chiltern Railways is proposing to move staff from the ticket office to the station concourse, as it is argued that staff will be able to help passengers more easily with purchasing tickets and boarding trains.
The “customer focused station model” is already in use at Bicester Village and Oxford Parkway Stations.

If the proposal is given the green light, rail passengers will have to purchase their tickets online or via mobile apps.
If passengers struggle using the app, then staff at the station are expected to help with using the self-service vending machines.
Chiltern Railways reveals on their website that in 1995 85 per cent of all tickets were sold at ticket offices but this has reduced to only 12 per cent.
