Police have said a baby who is in critical condition after falling into the River Thames was 10 months old, not 18 months as they previously stated.
Thames Valley Police initially said that the girl, who fell into the river at Goring Lock in the south of the county at 9.45am today, had been pronounced dead, but later retracted this statement.
She was rescued from the water and airlifted to the John Radcliffe Hospital, in Oxford, where medics initially thought she was dead.
But they discovered a very faint heartbeat.
Police said they believed her mother and the baby's three-year-old sister were also in the river and the pair have been taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
Police are continuing to monitor the scene of the accident.
