New double yellow lines are being considered for a road in Oxford by the council.

Oxfordshire County Council is proposing to introduce ‘no waiting at any time’ restrictions on the southwest side of North Way in Barton, opposite the junction with Burchester Avenue.

According to the council "the proposals will help ensure the junction is left clear of stationary vehicles in order to assist with forward visibility and the safe movement of passing and turning traffic, specifically the local bus operators servicing the area."

A consultation on the matter was opened yesterday (July 6) and will close on August 4 at 5pm.

The responses will then be reviewed, and a report presented to cabinet member for highway management, Andrew Gant, at a meeting scheduled later this year.
