A town councillor has resigned this week with immediate effect, it has been revealed.
Bicester Town Council confirmed that Jamie Jessett stepped down from his role as a councillor late last night (July 5).
The Oxford Mail understands this is due to online abuse Mr Jessett has received in recent months.

Kingsmere resident Mr Jesset is an active litter picker in the town and set up the Bicester Litter Pickers group, which now has more than 950 members on Facebook.
The group was founded with the aim to keep Bicester looking clean and tidy both for residents and tourists.
As well as creating a clean town, the group also take young people out who are doing The Duke of Edinburgh Award.
