A fire broke out a cafe in Oxford last night (Tuesday, July 4) after a saucepan was left on a cooker accidentally.
At 10pm, two fire crews from Rewley Road Fire Station and one from Slade Fire station were mobilised to reports of a fire at Karak Cafe on Cowley Road.
Smoke detectors had alerted a neighbour and passers-by who called 999.

On arrival, crews were faced with smoke from the ground floor restaurant and evacuated the flat above. They closed the road while they dealt with the incident.
Firefighters used specialist hydraulic equipment to gain entry to the security shutters and entered the building wearing breathing apparatus .
A high pressure hose reel was used to extinguish a saucepan on fire that had been left on a cooker accidentally.
Incident commander Jason Clifford urged the public to check they have working smoke detectors and to be extra careful when cooking.
