From a 'one-man crimewave' to a prisoner with a 'grudge' - here are some of the criminals who were jailed at Oxford Crown Court in June.
Luke Tran
Luke Tran, 32, had been ‘targeting’ his mother and father for a decade by the time his threats came to a head on February 6.
After telling his father ‘I’m going to slash you up’, he broke into his parents’ house while they hid in their car on the phone to police.
Tran was jailed for two years and two months with an indefinite restraining order imposed limiting his contact with his parents.
Bilal Haider
Bilal Haider, 27, was caught on CCTV running after a Little Red Riding Hood-costumed student in early November 2021.
The takeaway and supermarket worker had tried to kiss the woman, groped at her body and pushed his hand beneath her dress before she ran off. He was caught in part from the DNA he left on her red cape.
Haider, of Hawkins Street, Oxford, was jailed for four and a half years and will remain on the sex offender register for life.
Bradley Jones
Bradley Jones, 30, spent five weeks on the run before police eventually caught up with him in West Oxfordshire at the start of April.
The ‘one-man crimewave’ spat Stella Artois over a barmaid in a spree that also saw him steal, threaten to kill his partner and handle £10,000-worth of possessions stolen in a Cotswolds burglary.
Jones, of Corrington Grove, Birmingham, was jailed for four years.
Curtis Halsey
Curtis Halsey, 25, threw the contents of a bin at his pregnant partner and punched her to the side of the head in a series of violent incidents over the course of their relationship.
In a victim impact statement, his former partner said she had become extremely anxious and depressed.
Halsey, of Malvern Close, Didcot, was jailed for two-and-a-half years, with an indefinite restraining order imposed.
Kevin Jones
Kevin Jones, 41, a prisoner at HMP Bullingdon, was bundled to the floor after he lunged at a gaoler with a plastic knife while his back was turned.
Jones, who held a ‘grudge’ against the prison officer, stabbed towards his neck but the victim managed to avoid the blade.
He was jailed for 14 years after admitting attempted murder and unauthorised possession of a knife in prison.
Thomas Lee
Thomas Lee led police on a five minute car chase near Wallingford before he lost control of his Mitsubishi Shogun and fled on foot.
He was caught, searched, and found to be in possession of thousands of pounds’ worth of MDMA pills, ketamine, and a cocaine-based substance known as ‘pink champagne’.
He was also found in possession of a small knife
Lee was jailed for three years and four months.
