More than 300 people have contacted a rescue centre near Bicester wanting to adopt Britain's "ugliest" dog.
Wendle, a Dogue de Bordeaux, has won the heart of Ardley Rescue Kennels' owner Annabelle Pottle, since he was found in a field near Wendlebury about six weeks ago.
And since he appeared in a national newspaper at the weekend. the centre in Bucknell Road has been inundated with calls from people wanting to adopt him.
Ms Pottle, who has owned the rescue kennels for 11 years, said: "I know he is not exactly pretty, but I personally think he is rather beautiful. He is a real character and makes everyone here laugh."
Ms Pottle added: "We had a call from a couple from the Midlands who came to see Wendle yesterday. They are keen to home him.
"They have had a similar breed before. We will now carry out a home and vet check next week, before we decide if they can take him home."
