A man was arrested on suspicion of assault after police responded to reports of a woman crying on a rural road near Wantage.
Abingdon Neighbourhood Team were the first to arrive at the B4494 at Chain Hill following reports of a female in distress on Wednesday, June 21.
A 27 year old man from Wantage was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm whilst evidence gathering continued at the scene.

After further checks were completed, officers discovered the man was wanted for failing to appear in Cheltenham Magistrates Court for outstanding drug driving and road offences.
The man was remanded in custody and pleaded not guilty to the assault at Oxford Magistrates Court.
The case was adjourned and will resume in early August. The man was placed on court bail.
A police spokesperson said: "This is a fantastic introduction to Response Week for the force and shows a great result and arrest linked to violence against women and girls.
"The arrest was made by Abingdon Neighbourhood Team who were first on scene, whilst evidence and victim safeguarding and support was provided by Response Team Two.
"The custody process, interview and case file CPS contact were completed by Response Team One. Superb teamwork across all departments yet again."
