Most criminals and hooligans sensibly prefer to keep out of the limelight.

But an increasing number, particularly young ones, seem to glorify in publicising their illegal and antisocial activities.

The latest are a group of children who have filmed themselves tearing about Gillians Park at Greater Leys, Oxford, on a motocross bike, and posted the video on YouTube.

No doubt they feel pleased with themselves.

However, what they are forgetting is that this is a children's play area, where families like to enjoy themselves.

The last thing they want is idiots chasing around on motorbikes and putting their lives at risk.

The big question is - where are the parents? Do they know that their offspring are engaged in such dangerous pursuits in a local park? If not, why not?

And do they know that their antics are now displayed on the Internet? If not, why not?

Some searching questions should now be about to be asked and answered in certain households.

One benefit of putting such incidents on YouTube, however, is that the culprits are readily identified.

No doubt they can expect a knock on the door soon from the local police team.

On second thoughts, perhaps we should encourage more criminals to post details of their deadly sins online.

It would do wonders for police crime detection rates.
