A pair of flatmates have appeared before court accused of raping a woman they met in a bar.

Andrew Page, 27, and Jordan Blanche, 26, were before Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday afternoon (June 27) facing a single charge of rape.

The men, self-employed mechanical engineers working for BMW in Oxford, allegedly jointly assaulted the same woman in their flat in Bicester on Saturday, June 24, after meeting her in a bar in the town.

The charge is so serious, a plea can only be taken at the crown court.

Gordana Austin, defending both men, indicated that the allegation was denied.

The justices remanded Page and Blanche, who of whom gave the court addresses in Gorleston, near Great Yarmouth, into custody to attend Oxford Crown Court on July 28 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
