A man was sent to hospital after he started ‘choking’ during a police arrest in Oxford last night (Monday, June 26).
Officers stopped a motorcyclist on suspicion of speeding on Marston Road in Oxford at around 6.40pm yesterday.
An altercation occurred during the vehicle stop with two police officers allegedly being assaulted.

The 36-year-old man then appeared to start choking and is reported to have briefly lost consciousness.
He was later taken to hospital as a precaution and has since been discharged.
One eyewitness, who wished to remain anonymous, described seeing a man being restrained against the window of a shop.
She added a few minutes later the man was lying on the pavement and officers were rushing over with medical equipment.
A 36-year-old man from Oxford has been arrested on suspicion of obstructing a constable in execution of their duties and assaulting an emergency worker.

A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: “Officers saw a grey Yamaha GPD125 motorcycle speeding in Marston Road, Oxford, at around 6.40pm yesterday (26/6).
“They pulled it over and gave advice to the rider, who was then found to not have a licence, which invalidated his insurance so the moped was seized.
“An altercation occurred with two officers allegedly being assaulted.
“A 36-year-old man from Oxford was arrested on suspicion of obstructing a constable in execution of their duties and assaulting an emergency worker.
“During the arrest, the man appeared to start choking and officers immediately provided medical attention.
“The man was taken to hospital as a precaution, having also suffered minor injuries in the altercation.
“He has since been discharged but remains in police custody.
“A mandatory referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct as the rider briefly lost consciousness.”
