TIMOTHY STERN, 40, of Bampton Close, Oxford, admitted assaulting a police officer in Cromwell Street, Oxford, on May 14. He was sentenced to eight weeks’ imprisonment suspended for a year, with the court record noting that he had attempted to spit at the officer and the offence was so serious that only a custodial sentence was justified. He was ordered to pay £100 in compensation.

ADAM JONES, 35, of Luther Street, Oxford, admitted damaging a police cell at Abingdon police station on May 15. He received a community order with 80 hours of unpaid work and was ordered to pay £200 in compensation.

JOSEPH WOODS, 18, of Kirby Close, South Moreton, admitted assault by beating and doing £2,600-worth of damage to a property in Old Bourne, Didcot. Both offences were committed while he was still a youth. He received a community order with rehabilitation activity requirement days and was ordered to pay £500 in compensation. A restraining order prevents him from going to Old Bourne or contacting his victims.

KAYE MORTIMER, 29, of Osterley Driver, Caversham, admitted driving a Vauxhall Corsa on Church Lane, Rotherfield Peppard, in January while over the drug-drive limit for cannabis. He was fined £150, banned from driving for 14 months and ordered to pay £145 in costs and surcharge.

ADRIAN LEWIS, 58, of Rotary Way, Thatcham, pleaded guilty to threatening behaviour and failing to provide a urine test after he was stopped in May on suspicion of having committed a road traffic offence. He was fined £160 and banned from driving for a year. The bench ordered he pay £20 in costs to the prosecution.

ANTHONY MARTIN, 44, of Churchfield, Nuffield, admitted drunk and disorderly behaviour in Station Road, Henley, on January 28, and in Bell Street on February 16. He was fined £40 for each offence.

JANUSZ SROKA, 29, of Newlands Avenue, Didcot, admitted drug driving a Ford Focus in Broadway, Didcot, on December 29 last year. Tests showed he had cannabis and benzoylecgonine in his system. He was fined £484, disqualified from driving for a year and ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £194 victim surcharge.

MATTHEW SPENCER, 44, of Vicarage Hill, Middleton, admitted possession of a lock knife in Heyford Hill, Oxford, and driving a Ford Focus without valid insurance. Both offences were committed on May 16. He received six penalty points on his licence for the insurance matter and 100 hours of unpaid work for possession of the lock knife. He must also pay £199 in costs and surcharge.

ALFIE ASHCROFT, 21, of Ukfield Lane, Hever, pleaded guilty to possession of a flare at the Kassam Stadium on August 23 last year. He was fined £256 and given a football banning order lasting three years. The magistrates also ordered he pay £187 in costs and surcharge.

ROYSTON BATSON, 60, of Pine Grove, Weybridge, admitted drug driving an Audi S5 on the M40 in November. Blood tests showed he had both cocaine and its derivative, benzoylecgonine, in his system. He was fined £120, banned from driving for a year and ordered to pay £133 in costs and surcharge.
