OXFORD United have been named and shamed for breaching the National Minimum Wage law and failing to pay more than £10,000 to staff.
The club was one of 202 firms and businesses named this morning by the Department for Business and Trade, for not paying staff the minimum wage.
United failed to pay £10,826.74 to 31 workers.

In a statement provided to this newspaper, the U’s revealed that all payments have been made across what was a more than three-year period.
The club statement read: “Following the publication of a report by the Department for Business and Trade, Oxford United can confirm that they worked with HMRC to rectify historic issues regarding the National Minimum Wage.
“These were events from April 6, 2015, to the end of 2018, and the club took on all recommendations, and made all relevant repayments, before the case was closed at the end of 2018.
“The club also took steps to ensure this would not recur, and these are constantly reviewed across all areas of the business.”
Kevin Hollinrake, minister for enterprise, markets and small business, said: “Today’s list is a stark reminder to all clubs that paying the legal minimum wage is non-negotiable.
“Football is the bread and butter of UK culture and it’s my job to be the referee and show employers a yellow card for not paying staff correctly. My message to all businesses is clear – pay your staff or face a booking.”
