Celebrated chef, food writer and restaurateur, Mark Hix MBE gave a cookery demonstration at a care home.

Families and friends of residents, locals, professionals and mayor Sandra Coleman, attended the event at Penhurst Gardens Care Home in Chipping Norton.

Mr Hix, who was the food writer for The Independent on Saturday for 14 years and now has a regular column in The Telegraph, opened The Oyster & Fish House in Lyme Regis in 2020.

He prepared an impressive menu of smoked trout followed by black cow cheddar, pennywort and pickled walnut salad and roast monkfish with Japanese dressing using fish fresh from the Dorset coast and ingredients he had foraged himself.

"I would like to say a huge thank you to my fantastic team for their hard work ensuring the demonstration ran smoothly, everybody who joined us and Mark for preparing such exquisite food!"
