A delivery driver's van was hit by a man with a metal pole when he was driving along the Oxford Ring Road.
The incident occurred between 7am and 8am on Monday (June 12) on the A423 Southern by-pass.
The victim, a man in his 40s, was driving a DPD van.

The offender is described as a white man, approximately 6ft tall, and of slim to medium build.
He was wearing black clothing and had a long ginger beard.
The offender was driving a black VW Transporter with a registration beginning with WD19.
The victim was not injured in the incident.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to the act of vandalism.
Investigating officer PC Daniel Mitchell based at Abingdon Police Station, said: “We are appealing for witnesses following this investigation.
“If anyone has CCTV or dash-cam footage of the incident or has witnessed the incident itself or who recognises the male described then please get in touch."
