Oxford's bid to become the first place in the UK to introduce a city-wide 20mph speed limit has taken a step closer.
At a meeting of county councillors last week, a motion to support the introduction of a blanket 20mph speed limit on non-arterial roads was supported in principle by all parties.
Highways chiefs at Oxfordshire County Council are considering making every residential street in the city a 20mph limit at a cost of £300,000.
