A Pizza Hut in Oxfordshire has permanently closed.
The branch at 182 Ock Street, Abingdon is the latest to shut down.
The American fast-food chain confirmed the closure was a response to the ever-shifting consumer landscape.
A spokesperson from Pizza Hut UK & Europe said: “We can confirm that our Abingdon Hut is permanently closed.

“Responding to an ever-shifting consumer landscape and to meet Pizza Hut’s growth ambitions in the UK, our business and operating models are evolving.
“We are confident in the ongoing success of one of Britain’s favourite businesses and we’re looking forward to sharing more details about our growth plans in due course.”
This comes following speculation on social media as to whether the Pizza Hut in Abingdon had actually closed.
Online it still says that the takeaway is open but it is not possible to place an order.
In 2020 Pizza Hut announced that it would be closing 29 restaurants, cutting 450 jobs.
This included the branch on George Street in Oxford.
Pizza Hut blamed the closures in 2020 on the impact of Covid-19 on the hospitality sector.
