Police are appealing for information after an attempted robbery in the Gourmet Burger Kitchen in George Street, Oxford.
Between 9.15am and 9.30am on Thursday two men entered the restaurant and threatened a member of staff with a knife.
There was a small struggle which resulted in the member of staff, a 28-year-old man, sustaining minor injuries. The men then left without managing to steal anything.
The men are both Asian and about 20-years-old. One man is 5ft 8ins and slim and had a thin face with very short cropped black hair. He was wearing a dark coloured hooded top and dark jeans.
The other man has short cropped black hair and was clean shaven with a more rounded face than the other man. He is around 5ft 6ins, stockier build and was wearing dark clothing.
Det Con Iain Spencer said: "The member of staff was getting the restaurant ready for the day when these men caught his attention and he opened the door to them.
"I am sure there must have been people in George Street, or at the bus stop for the Stagecoach route 100 bus, who may have seen these men. They could have been hanging around the front door of the restaurant for a while beforehand.
"I would ask that anyone who may have seen these men before, during, or after the robbery or have any information to get in touch."
Anyone with any information about the incident to contact Det Con Iain Spencer at Oxford police station via 0845 8 505 505, or if you don't want to talk to the police or give your name, call the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
