Police today released an e-fit image of a man they want to question in connection with an attempted robbery in Oxford.
At some time between 1.15am and 3am on Sunday at the junction of Meadow Lane and Jackdaw Lane, he approached from behind a woman in her 20s.
He tried to grab her rucksack off her back, placed one hand over her mouth and told her not to scream. When she resisted he let go and she ran off.
The man is black or mixed race, in his mid 20s, 6ft tall and of medium build.
He has a mole on his right upper cheek close to his eye. He was wearing a grey sweatshirt and black baggy trousers and light-coloured, thin cotton gloves.
Anyone who saw the incident or who recognises the man from the picture should contact PC Alex Gill from the Oxford Robbery Team via the Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505.
If you don't want to talk to police and don't want to leave your name, call the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
